Recognition of Current Competency (RCC), also
known as Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), is a process which involves
assessment of your skills by an assessor who is qualified in either the
matter of what you wish to teach or the way you teach and assess your students
(or both). Costs for this process are negotiated with the assessor and
may vary depending on travel and time involved.
RCC for permaculture RCC for a qualification in Accredited Permaculture Training involves arranging for an assessor to take evidence from you which shows that you have already reached a level of competency expected of graduates of that course. By looking at the units involved in the qualification you wish 'to RCC' you'll see the sorts of skills which may be involved. You can choose to RCC in particular elective units but will need to RCC all the core units. A number of assessors have fairly clear guidelines for the sort of standards and evidence that will be expected. A number of people with significant experience in permaculture and/or permaculture training have successfully carried out this process without the need for further study or project work. Everyone who wishes to teach accredited permaculture training courses will need to undertake this process. It will be explained and the process of assembling evidence begun, at a Course Orientation Workshop (COW). RCC for training
