Major erosion of the South bank of the Gawler River due to the redirection of the river by a massive log jam, has been repaired through a partnership between the Adelaide and Mt Lofty Ranges Natural Resources Management Board and Gawler Council along with the magnificent skills of CAVCO Earthmovers.
A thousand tonnes of surplus earth from a nearby development site and local rock have stabilised the bank along which the Gawler-to-sea hike-bike trail is to run and prevented the liberation of massive silt loads into the river. The project also facilitates safe access for the revegetation of 400m of river bank.
